Dr. Rachael Keilin
Dr. Rachael Keilin believes in offering leading edge surgical care in
an unhurried, compassionate environment. Her advanced surgical training
has allowed her to introduce several new technologies to the region, such
as the Lap Band for surgical weight loss.
Dr. Keilin received her college degree at Yale University, graduating
with the distinction Magna Cum Laude. She then went on to the Baylor College
of Medicine in Houston, and graduated with the honor of membership in
the Alpha Omega Alpha society, an honor reserved for the top graduates
of each medical school class.
She received her surgical training at the Baylor College of Medicine,
at the Texas Medical Center in Houston, one of the largest medical centers
in the country. Dr. Keilin completed additional advanced training in a
fellowship in trauma and critical care.
She is currently board-certified in both general surgery and surgical
critical care by the American Board of Surgery. Surgical critical care
certification is an achievement accomplished by fewer than 100 physicians
in the U.S. each year. She has served as the Medical Director of the Surgical
Intensive Care Unit at one of the local hospitals as and Deputy Medical Director
of Lifenet Emergency Medical Services. Dr. Keilin enjoys living in Texarkana
with her husband Dr. Ron Hekier, and her two daughters.
