Dr. Jeffrey DeCaprio
Dr. Jeffrey DeCaprio provides advanced solutions for
patients with vascular disease. He is the first and only surgeon in
Texarkana to focus exclusively on vascular pathology, limiting his practice
to vascular and endovascular surgery. Dr. DeCaprio treats patients with
diseases of the arteries, such as aortic aneurysms, blockages of the
carotids, and pain in the lower limbs due to blockages in the arteries
of the legs. He is the only surgeon in Texarkana who offers minimally
invasive treatment of the above diseases, including aortic endografts,
carotid stents, and Silverhawk™ atherectomies. He also offers
comprehensive solutions for varicose veins and spider veins, using techniques
such as Endovenous Laser, miniphlebectomy, and sclerotherapy, that leave
no scars to barely noticeable scars.
After obtaining his medical degree from New York University, where
he was elected President of Alpha Omega Alpha, the prestigious national
honor society reserved for the top graduates in a medical school class,
Dr. Jeffrey DeCaprio trained at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. In order
to focus exclusively on vascular surgery, he returned to New York University
for additional fellowship training. He is board certified in both general
surgery and vascular surgery.
After his fellowship, Dr. DeCaprio served as a vascular surgeon and
as a major in the United States Air Force, at Lackland Air Force Base
in San Antonio, Texas. Shortly after September 11, 2001, Dr. Jeffrey
DeCaprio was deployed overseas and served his country during Operation
Enduring Freedom. During his time in Adana, Turkey, Dr. DeCaprio provided
surgical care to our country’s brave soldiers who were wounded
in Afghanistan.
Upon his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Dr.
DeCaprio moved to Texarkana, Texas, where he resides with his wife,
Dr. Theresa DeCaprio (a native Texan), and his two daughters.
